Snooc? What’s that?
The snooc arrives in Morillon with two different ways of practicing it : slalom snooc on the dedicated area (the brand new « Snooc Zone » of Grand Massif) and hiking snooc. Snow sports fans, Laure and her daughters Margaux (15 years old) and Charlotte (12 years old) tried it for you. Here is the story of two snooc experiences in Morillon Les Esserts during February holidays.
Snooc
It’s a kind of luge inspired by paret which was used by schoolchildren in the past. Snooc is a hybrid vehicule that is said to be “made in Pays de Savoie” as it was invented in Chambéry. That’s it for the presentations of this modern luge that you will easily familiarise yourself with ; a snow sports that is more and more popular and that allows you to slide on the slopes as close as possible to the snow, very gently.
While Laure, the mother, had already had the opportunity to try the snooc during the last “Yoopa” event, dedicated to new snow sports organised every year in mid-March in Morillon Les Esserts, for the two teenagers, it was a first time experience!
For the introduction, let’s go to the ” Snooc Zone ” in Morillon Les Esserts. Twice a week during the February school holidays, Morillon tourist office offers free introductions to Snooc. On site, at the bottom of the Sairon chairlift, Sarah explains what the vehicule is and gives advice on how to familiarise yourself with it and have fun. Walk uphill, with the Snooc under the arm (very light) and let’s have a first slalom descent on this secured area specially fitted out for Snooc in Morillon.
The key to rotate the vehicule? Swinging with your shoulders. No need to hold onto the handle and drag your feet across the snow! After two runs, Margaux and Charlotte did a parallel slalom. How did it end up? Laughter and fun shared with the family as they discover a new and super fun way to slide on the snow!
