Randonnée vers la Pointe d’Orchez

1

Starting from the hamlet of Larroz, 2km from Châtillon, the ascent to the Pointe d'Orchez is short but fairly straightforward. It offers an opportunity for a small summit early in the season, a good training ground for the launch of the summer hiking season.

The first part of the climb takes place in the shade of the forest, and we soon get into the swing of things with almost 200m of ascent in 500m. At the Creux du Plane junction, we fork left to continue our ascent, leaving the route to Chapelle St-Innocent on our right. The ascent is efficient, the forest clearing a little at times to reveal a clearer view. We finish the climb with a few hairpin bends before reaching the cross, a veritable belvedere offering a bird's-eye view of the Arve valley, the Bargy massif opposite and Le Môle on the right. On the way back, you can follow the same route, or opt for a loop via the beautiful Chapelle St-Innocent and the hamlet of Presles, before returning to the parking lot in the opposite direction (road section).
